Entry 17Pen Drive

It’s my Birthday.

And like every birthday, I have a weird habit of gifting myself a gift…

…myself!

And that gift is usually some tech with the best specs there are, because I have a tendency of over-optimizing things.

But this time, I was diagnosed with MDS (Money Deficiency Syndrome)…😌

So I had to consider some cheaper options.

My initial plan was to gift myself an expensive gaming handheld capable of emulating retro games from older gaming systems upto atleast Playstation 2.

But since that dream quietly walked out of my Amazon cart…

I decided to buy something that would at least remain compatible with whatever gaming gadget I buy in the future.

So…

I bought myself a Pen Drive.
.
.
.

To store my game ROM’s.

I placed the order a few days ago.

Selected the “This is a gift” option.

Even wrote myself a nice little birthday wish.

😌

And today, on the day of my birthday…
the order has finally arrived.

As I started doing the unboxing, I wasn’t expecting any excitement or surprise.

Partly because it wasn’t what I had originally wanted.
And partly because I already knew what was inside…😏

But now as I hold this tiny little Pen Drive between my fingers,
It feels something different.

Instead of feeling disappointed for getting something I never really wanted,

I am feeling… .

Content.

For no reason at all.

And a little proud…

For saving money,
I didn’t really had in the first place. 😬

And strangely…

Happy too.

God knows why?

But now I realise…

The MacBook I already own…
(My previous birthday gift)😎

…is already capable of doing the very thing I had been planning to buy another device for.

And now… .

Suddenly this tiny Pen Drive feels like the perfect birthday gift.
.
.
.

Not because it was what I wanted.

But because it quietly reminds me that life may not always give us the best.

Sometimes…

It simply gives us just enough.

And now maybe I should just plug in this Pen Drive somewhere and see if it works before the return window closes.
